MC Oslo

Oslo

This is a route preferred by Ole-Andreas Isdahl (the creator of Hubriding) when he drives to Straand Hotel - Never a dull transport leg with great driving terrain in Vestfold and further into the heart of Telemark! Enjoy the ride and spend the day, a delicious refreshment can be enjoyed on the roof terrace when you arrive.

Speed Motorcenter

Sandefjord

Download GPX-file

If you're stopping by Speed Motorcenter on your way to Straand, we've put together this route, which is Terje Bredal's favorite. A fantastic alternative and of course a guaranteed turn. The route takes you on the eastern side of Numedalslågen before the beautiful sweepers over Vindfjell and Siljan. From Skien you can enjoy further on to Akkerhaugen and Vrangfoss locks where you enter the magical landscape along the Telemark Canal all the way to Fjågesund before taking up Kvitseidkleivene and arriving at Straand in Vrådal. The stretch between Ytre Stranda and Vrangfoss contains some gravel, but FIN gravel road, which takes us down to Vrangfoss locks that travelers SHOULD include. Should you need to stretch your legs or grab a bite to eat along the way, we can recommend Lunde Slusekro and Vinfjelltunet Gjestegaard along the route.

Motor-Teknikk

Kristiansand

Download GPX-file

From Motor Teknikk in Kristiansand, we recommend this route, which takes you through beautiful driving terrain to Åmli and on through Gjøvdal to Fyresdal. Finally, there is a great stage along Vråvatn before you arrive at the historic Straand Hotel. The stage through Gjøvdal is one of the routes that HubRiding founder Ole-Andreas Isdahl loves to ride, it provides great riding experiences and is just as fun to ride every time. This is a route with a fun factor and guaranteed turns! After-drive and debrief of the ride is recommended on the roof terrace when you arrive. Enjoy the ride!

Løvaas Motor

Holmestrand

Download GPX-file

If you're stopping by Løvaas Motor on your way to Straand, we've put together this gem that we often choose ourselves. There's plenty of fun-factor and, of course, guaranteed turns. The route takes you back roads all the way from Løvaas via Høyjord and Hvarnes before the beautiful sweepers over Vindfjell and Siljan. From Skien, you can enjoy yourself further to Ulefoss where you enter the magical landscape along the Telemark Canal all the way to Fjågesund before climbing Kvitseidkleivene and arriving at Straand in Vrådal. Should you need to stretch your legs or grab a bite to eat along the way, we can recommend Lunde Slusekro and Vinfjelltunet Gjestegaard along the route.

MC Lillehammer AS

Lillehammer

Download GPX-file

If you're coming from Lillehammer and want a great trip to Straand Hotel, we recommend this route that runs through a fantastic natural and cultural landscape. You'll experience beautiful mountain ranges combined with varied terrain, including the industrial adventure of Rjukan-Notodden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We recommend a stop at Admini Rjukan and Vemork for lunch and a cultural refill. The last part of the tour goes from Dalen to Vrådal along Vråvatn with little traffic and beautiful bends along the water, this is a nice finish before a delicious refreshment is taken on the roof terrace. Drive wisely and remember to eat and drink well along the way, this is a long trip.

Of course you can drive the fastest route to Straand Hotel, but we have assembled our own arrival routes with a fun factor and guaranteed sharp turns - never a dull experience!
