Sogndalstrand Culture Hotel

To be enchanted by the beautiful surroundings

Sogndalstrand – 3 miles south of Egersund – was originally an old loading point from the sailing ship era. In this idyllic setting, you’ll find Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell in a newly restored 19th-century wooden building. Here, travelers are welcomed with warmth and great hospitality.

Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell consists of 11 different buildings where the street is the hotel’s “lobby”. The old Krambua, Kommunehuset, Folvikhuset, Skredderhuset, Sjøbua, Mydlandhuset and Løa have been brought back to life, and it is these buildings that make up Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell. A non-traditional hotel – open for restaurant guests, accommodation, courses and conferences, celebrations and festive occasions.

Sogndalstrand is one of the most visited destinations in Rogaland, and is the only village in Norway where the wooden buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries and the surrounding cultural landscape are protected by the National Heritage Board. This unique place with soul and history in all its walls will charm you with its architecture, whether it’s bursting with flowers in summer or dressed up for winter.

The place and the surrounding areas have a wealth of history, sights and activities – well worth a visit.
