Here you drive on side roads in a beautiful agricultural landscape.
After Vikeså, turn off onto RV 503 and drive towards Byrkjedal.
Here you come to Gloppedalsura, which is worth a short stop.
It consists of boulders lying on top of an end moraine.
Ura was created 10,000 years ago when the glaciers melted away from Gloppedalen.

According to an old legend, there used to be a farm in Gloppedalen, but the people there were godless, they drank and fought during the holy days of Christmas.
Then the mountain fell down and buried the whole farm, but for seven full years people could hear a rooster crowing under the rocks.
It had gotten into a grain bin.
Not long after Gloppedalsura, it’s time to take a breather at Byrkjedalstunet.
Here you can enjoy a good cup of coffee and waffles.
Here you can also visit a candle foundry with a local art shop.
The tour then continues towards Dirdal on RV 45 where you drive in scenic surroundings through Olterdal and towards Ålgård.
Just before Ålgård, turn left and drive a few hundred meters on the E39 before turning towards Bryne.
Here we drive over Høgjæren and into the realm of the Jæren farmer.
With its flat landscape and iconic stone fences, the trip offers the typical features of the region.
You practically drive through the Rogaland food bowl.
As you approach Varhaug, you can make a small stop at Ystepikene and taste some fantastic, delicious local cheese with a bit of history thrown in.
Now we’re approaching the landscape and light that created the Jær painters.
And what could be better than a stop at the Kitty Kielland bay at Ogna and perhaps a little dip in the sea?
After Ogna, we continue on winding roads past Hellvik and back to Egersund.
There, delicious food and drink await after an eventful journey.
