Flatland
The hosts at Flatheim are fond of motorcycling. “We’ve been on many great trips on motorcycles over the years, both with single bikes and sidecar bikes. We enjoy riding through the countryside, smelling the smells, the temperature and the good feeling of driving through and getting close to different landscapes.
Flatheim is located by one of the country’s finest motorcycle trails. The Norwegian Scenic Route Gaularfjellet winds through lush landscapes from the fjord to the high mountains, through lively villages, along lakes, waterfalls and rivers. Gaularfjellsvegen has almost no tunnels (only a few collapses) and you can enjoy the landscape all the way. Flatheim is also a great place to use as a base for day trips or half-day hikes in the fjord and mountain landscape of Western Norway. We have several suggestions, both trips to the coast or round trips along the fjords a little further inland.
For motorcycle tourists staying overnight here, we can offer parking in the garage (as far as there is space), the opportunity to dry clothes and equipment, and otherwise nice places for relaxation and/or socialization, as desired. It is possible to arrange your own food, or have a 3-course dinner served. Breakfast is always included.
