About the entrepreneur Sam Eyde, who was going to “put the waterfall to useful work for people”, which was the start of the Hydro industrial adventure.
Sam Eyde secured the rights to develop hydroelectric power in Telemark in the early 1890s, and today he is compared to innovators such as Steve Jobs.
In 2015, the Rjukan-Notodden Industrial Heritage Site was placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, which is a list of sites of irreplaceable cultural and natural value to mankind.
