The tour passes through the stunning and unique landscape of the Unesco Magma Geopark.

The tour starts in Egersund and goes along RV 44 towards Hauge in Dalane.
At Birkeland, turn off RV 44 and take FV 33 towards Nesvåg.
Here you can cycle all the way along the sea, almost like being in a boat.
Here you can make a short stop at the Nesvåg Sea and Motor Museum.
You then continue past Rekefjord and then a short stop for lunch, coffee and a guided tour of the old charging station Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell is in order.
After a delicious cup of coffee in historic surroundings, you can continue the tour.
You’ll then cycle on towards Hetlandsheia and into a completely different natural environment than on the way away.
The description sea and moorland fits well here.
Once back at Helleland, you cycle along the E39 on your own cycle path to Krossmoen.
There you turn off onto the national highway and down to Egersund.
If you want to challenge yourself a little more and have many miles behind you, you can continue to Jøssingfjord and Flekkefjord.
This requires a well-trained body.

How can I navigate the route?

This primarily depends on whether you have a GPS installed, navigate by App on your mobile phone or prefer paper printing.
Here we describe the most common workflows:

  • Export the route to your GPS in the usual way
  • Check that the route is calculated correctly in your GPS (It is recommended that the GPS is set to select the fastest route and any avoidance is turned off for the route to be calculated as described).
