Fjord and mountains 2

This is by far our longest route. It is not particularly technical or difficult to drive, but offers great experiences and beautiful mountain passes. After departure, you drive towards Dragsvik where you take the ferry across the Sognefjord to Vangsnes.

Take a trip up to the statue of Fridtjof the Bold at Vangsnes. The statue is 10.5 meters high and stands on a 12 meter high pedestal. The statue was a gift from Kaiser Wilhelm in 1913, who was a regular visitor to Balestrand for many years.

The trip up to Vikafjellet is nothing short of fun to drive and is packed with delightful curve combinations that eventually give you access to a beautiful landscape and scenery. A stop at "Storesvingen" provides a rare and magnificent view of Vik and the Sognefjord. Just before the tunnel at the top, you'll need to summit again to enjoy spectacular views. Feel free to stop in Voss and book a lunch at Hotel Fleisher before continuing on to Dale, where you head towards Romarheim via Mo.

Much of this stretch is on narrow roads through a beautiful fjord landscape. Contrary to all motorcycle philosophy, from here you will have to put up with a bit of driving on an E-road, namely the E-39, but this stretch of road is actually okay to drive so you will actually live with it. From Ytre Oppedal, take the ferry across to the north side of the Sognefjord and then drive back to Balestrand and Kviknes Hotel. We recommend a stop in the industrial town of Høyanger before ending the day with good food and drink with us.
