Great charming trip where you can look for the sea serpent in Seljord and drive some gravel for those who want to. Many people have cars that really belong on gravel roads, so this is a great trip.

The tour starts from Straand Hotel and down Kviteseidkleivene to Seljord, where you can stop at Sjøromtårnet to look for the famous sea serpent before continuing along Garvikstrondi. This is a beautiful winding road along the water's edge. Halfway along the water, there is a road over to Kilen, which is gravel and reminiscent of the road standard in the old days. From Kilen it's a fantastic walk along the Telemark Canal, where there are plenty of opportunities for cozy stops to enjoy life. Perhaps the canal boats Victoria or Henrik Ibsen will sail by?
A stop at Kviteseid Bygdetun is recommended before heading up the hairpin bends that we came down at the start of the route. It is also possible to drive from Fjågesund and over to Grova and on to Steane and Straand Hotel that way. It is also possible to drive this loop as an extra lap if you want an afternoon trip. There are many options for combining these loops, so just choose the one that you feel suits you best. On this tour, you may want to bring food from the hotel so that you have full flexibility to enjoy a delicious meal in the open air along the beautiful route. Have a great trip!

How can I navigate the route?
This depends primarily on whether you have installed a GPS, navigate by App on your mobile phone or prefer paper printouts. Here we describe the most common workflows:
- Download the GPX file for the route you want to your computer
- Import the file to your route planning tool (e.g. Garmin's Basecamp or Tom Tom's MyDrive)
- Export the route to your GPS in the usual way
- Check that the route is calculated correctly in your GPS (It is recommended that the GPS is set to select the fastest route and any avoidance turned off for the route to be calculated as described).
- Have a great trip!
- Download the GPX file for the route you want to your mobile phone
- Send/open the file in the App that belongs to your GPS model (e.g. Garmin's Drive or Tom Tom's MyDrive)
- Send the route to your GPS (follow the instructions that come with your GPS and App)
