Route 6

Dramatic Telemark, Long

Our longest tour suggestion, so set aside the whole day, as there are plenty of great things to see, stop and take in. The trip has one challenging section, from Momrak to Fjone. Here you also need to check the ferry times on the cable ferry that takes you across the strait.

It is recommended that GPS is set to select the fastest route and any avoidance turned off in order for the route to be calculated as described.

First stage to Fyresdal. Just before Fyresdal, turn off and drive over to the west side of Fyresdalsvatn. Here you drive on beautiful roads along the lake, before turning off and climbing up towards the road that will take you along Nesvatn.

This part of the tour is a real gem. Here you ride in an incredibly beautiful landscape, ranging from high mountains to dramatic valleys. If you don't smile inside your helmet when you reach the end of the water, or for the next few miles, you'll never smile on an MC😊 When you eventually come down to the main road towards Treungen, there will be a short stage of transportation, before taking off again on fantastic winding roads. The road rises dramatically along Fyresdal's lake, before after the descent, you will take a small road towards Fjone. It's a toll road, but free for bikers. The road is paved with loose gravel, so you should have some experience with gravel, or take it easy at a pace you are comfortable with. The road takes you over the mountain and down to Fjone. There it's a good place to stop for a coffee at the café, before the strange little cable ferry takes you across the strait. Then it's a nice final stage to the hotel with great curve combinations towards the end.
