Route 5

The three waters

A route that takes you around 3 large lakes, via some incredibly beautiful roads. The first stage is familiar to many, as it runs along the Vrådal lake, with great curves and friendly landscapes. Then you turn off and down to Fyresdal. The road continues on the east side of Fyresdalvatn, through magnificent scenery, and takes you many meters above the surface of the water in dramatic fashion. Here you really get to experience a magnificent landscape.

It is recommended that GPS is set to select the fastest route and any avoidance turned off in order for the route to be calculated as described.

When you reach the southern end of the lake, there are still many bends left, before you get onto the main road and take off up to Treungen. A bit of transportation, but good to "stretch your legs" a bit.

When you arrive in Treungen, we recommend a visit to the fantastic motor museum "Z". Here you'll find a unique collection of cars, motorcycles and much more. A real hidden gem.

After visiting "Z", a break on the other side of the bridge is also worth a stop, where you can sit on the edge of the pier and take in the magnificent nature of Telemark. From Treungen you have a great hike ahead of you up to Vrådal. The road runs along the water all the way, with long and clear bends.

If you take the tour without any particular stops, this can be a great tour before or after lunch, but we recommend making stops along the way, and preferably making this a full-day tour as there is a lot to see along the way.

If you make a stop in the center of Fyresdal, we recommend a stroll through the popular and spectacular Hamaren Activity Park and on into the medieval village of Øyskogen and the charming Folkestabyen
