Skykula is perhaps the most beautiful hike you can take in the region.

You cycle up to a real peak and get both views and a great and demanding climb. You start gently along the salmon river Tengs and Bjerkreimselva. Then you cycle towards Ørsdalen in a beautiful valley and mountain landscape. Here it rises steadily towards the top. Skykula can be cycled to the top by road bike or mountain bike. If you want to get all the way up to the radar, you have to leave your road bike behind for the last 100 meters. The tough climb provides an incredible reward at the top. At 906 meters above sea level, Skykula is the highest peak between Ørsdalen and Gyadalen. Here you have unobstructed views in all directions and can see large parts of Rogaland. Just look forward to a little acid in your thighs and beautiful surroundings for your break at the top. The return trip will also be more pleasant.

How can I navigate the route?

This depends primarily on whether you have installed a GPS, navigate by App on your mobile phone or prefer paper printouts. Here we describe the most common workflows:

  • Download the GPX file for the route you want to your computer
  • Import the file to your route planning tool (e.g. Garmin's Basecamp or Tom Tom's MyDrive)
  • Export the route to your GPS in the usual way
  • Check that the route is calculated correctly in your GPS (It is recommended that the GPS is set to select the fastest route and any avoidance turned off for the route to be calculated as described).
