Husqvarna launches an all-new and awesome Vitpilen 801 with wow effect and high fun-factor

Yes yes yes, Husqvarna has listened to rider feedback and taken some important steps in relaunching the Vitpilen 801. The pedestrian Vitpilen 701 had clip-on handlebars, a quick shifter and a blipper and was a motorcycle that took road racing to the streets. The distance between the predecessors of the Svartpilen and Vitpilen has now narrowed, but the differences are still clear and pronounced. The engine platform and main components are largely the same and by all means very very good. The new seat frame for both these models represents something new, a big and not least sporty step forward, the WP dampers deliver, the JJ brakes are literally on point and the steering geometry takes us straight into the funfair category. A kerb weight of 180 kg contributes to good and not least playful mobility, so you’ll have to look hard for something more fun to drive. The new version of the Vitpilen 801 has a more upright seating position, but not quite as upright as the Svartpilen 801. The Vitpilen has a slightly longer tank, a slightly lower and wider handlebar that makes it a bit sportier to drive. The headlight has been given a new, different and distinctive design that clearly sets the two models apart. A review of the technical data for both Svartpilen and Vitpilen shows that the bikes are otherwise quite similar, 1475 mm wheelbase, similar steering angle, weight, damper travel and brake systems. In for some fun – yes, this is the thing for next season, no doubt about it.
