At first glance on the map, this route may look a little boring - but make no mistake, this is a fantastic driving experience that you simply must experience.
The tour starts from the hotel at 08:00 by ferry along the Geirangerfjord to Hellesylt.
On the way out of the fjord, you’ll hear exciting stories while enjoying the steep and majestic mountainsides where people have actually and incredibly been farming for generations!
From Hellesylt, you’ll experience and enjoy the transition from fjord to mountain through narrow valleys and gradually more open landscapes, and one of our most experienced drivers says that this is one of the best driving experiences he’s had in Western Norway.
As the landscape gradually opens up, you’ll get new driving experiences on narrow and tight roads through the forest areas on Osdalsvegen and along Kalvatten.
A very special and wonderful driving experience that offers varied smells of forest floor, flowers, dirt and much more!
This is simply Norway at its most impressive and almost magical.
Further out on Stadlandet, the topography changes completely, you’ll experience a great diversity of wild and domestic animals and you’ll be exposed to the fascinating forces of nature that only the west coast of Norway can offer!
Some of the highlights of this part of the trip will be the surfers in Hoddevika and, of course, the Korsen pub in Leikanger, which in itself is a fantastic lunch experience with pulled pork on the menu.
In the city you will experience great and fun driving experiences, sea and highlands with a high “must-see” factor!
The trip offers many fun “small roads” and on the return via Stryn, you’ll once again get to put on some speed in large “sweepers” and tight serpentine turns on the way up to the tunnels that take you up to Strynefjellet, absolutely fantastic and wonderful driving.
The charming stage via Dalsnibba and the 100 bends down to the hotel will then be a great end to your day.

How can I navigate the route?
This primarily depends on whether you have a GPS installed, navigate by App on your mobile phone or prefer paper printing.
Here we describe the most common workflows:
- Download the GPX file for the route of your choice to your computer
- Import the file to your route planning tool (e.g. Garmin’s Basecamp or Tom Tom’s MyDrive)
- Export the route to your GPS in the usual way
- Check that the route is calculated correctly in your GPS (It is recommended that the GPS is set to select the fastest route and any avoidance is turned off for the route to be calculated as described).
- Have a good trip!
- Download the GPX file for the route of your choice to your mobile phone
- Send/open the file in the app that belongs to your GPS model (e.g. Garmin’s Drive or Tom Tom’s MyDrive)
- Send the route to your GPS (follow instructions that come with your GPS and App)
- Check that the route is calculated correctly in your GPS (It is recommended that the GPS is set to select the fastest route and any avoidance is turned off for the route to be calculated as described).
