Several dealers join forces to build the MCO chainThree of Norway’s leading motorcycle shops are joining forces to form MCO.
The three companies MC Oslo AS, Hestmann Motor AS and Monsterbike AS are merging their brands to form the nationwide retail chain MCO.”By merging three strong players in the industry, we are creating a chain that gives customers better access to a broader range of motorcycles and equipment, while building a robust professional environment,” says Kim Harald Jøranli, chain manager at MCO.”This collaboration gives us a unique opportunity to strengthen our position in the market,” Jøranli continues.
Large Yamaha store in Oslo
Robert Svendsen, store manager at MCO Furuset, sees great advantages in the merger: “Becoming part of a larger chain gives us significant synergy effects. We can share knowledge, streamline operations and offer customers even better service.”Svendsen himself helped build up the Wright traffic school chain before joining forces last autumn with Andreas Alm, who ran the Hestmann Motor AS workshop, which has worked with Yamaha motorcycles for a long time. In January, the duo opened a large Yamaha store with an associated workshop and department for parts and riding equipment at Furuset in Oslo. The Yamaha store is located in the old premises of MC Oslo, which just before Christmas moved to Vollebekk, along Østre Aker vei in Oslo.
BMW department in Drammen
There is also a good atmosphere in Drammen. Monsterbike, which in a transitional phase has used the name MC Drammen, is looking forward to working under the MCO brand.”As a united team, we can benefit from shared resources, marketing and purchasing agreements. This gives us greater competitiveness and a better customer experience,” says Torgeir Jahren, store manager at MCO Drammen. In the store in Kobbervikdalen in Drammen, it is now also possible to buy BMW, in addition to Honda and Suzuki. “The MCO brand will gradually become more and more visible in the Norwegian motorcycle community – Monsterbike, Hestmann Motor and MC Oslo are very respected brands among Norwegian motorcyclists. The rebranding will therefore take place gradually. Our main focus now is to welcome the stream of customers who are ready for the first ride of the spring. During the course of the year, our goal is to be completely finished with the name change,” concludes chain manager Kim-Harald Jøranli.
