The wonderful spreader of joy who so selflessly gives absolutely everything to ensure that the guest receives the best possible service during their stay. With her big heart for the guest, humor and quick switches between Bokmål and Nordland dialect, she makes everyone smile and not least enjoy themselves. It’s equally impressive that she’s 74 years old and gives her all every single day. Anne Lise Herbjørnsdatter from Straand Hotel has been named “Service Hero of the Year” in De Historiske

Straand Hotel in Vrådal is proud that our beloved employee Anne Lise Herbjørnsdatter (74) has been named “Service Hero of the Year 2024” by De Historiske Hotel og Spisesteder. This prestigious award goes to a very special person who puts guests first and exudes true hospitality.

Anne Lise, who has devoted her entire life to service, is known for her warmth, energy and genuine presence. She combines storytelling, poetry reading and a genuine love of the profession to give guests unforgettable experiences. Anne Lise herself describes the secret behind her dedication as follows:

– I guess I have a joy and will that is inside me – and it shows,” says Anne Lise with a smile.

Having grown up with values such as friendliness, hospitality and job satisfaction, the service profession was a natural choice for Anne Lise. She also emphasizes the importance of the people she shares her working day with:

– “It’s not who you work for, but who you work with. Nice colleagues mean everything,” she says.

For decades, Anne Lise has put her guests’ experiences at the center. Her philosophy is simple but powerful:

– “Of all the joys, job satisfaction is the one that should last the longest,” she says with conviction.
