Text & photo: Ole-Andreas Isdahl Yamaha has long shown that it goes to great lengths to show customers the way to future-oriented technology. We all remember the launch of the Niken three-wheeler, which in many ways was designed to show that Yamaha both dares and can lead the way with new technology. Yamaha wasn’t the first to go electric, but they’ve made a decent effort with the NEO scooter, which has proved to be a real “urban heartthrob” with fun driving characteristics and high functionality. Yamaha has also got off to a good start with electric bikes and now supplies mountain bikes, gravel bikes and urban bikes, including the CROSSCORE and Booster Easy models that I’ve been riding.
Booster is basically a city bike with excellent maneuverability and not least load capacity. Booster has relatively small wheels compared to a traditional bike and is therefore not a mileage killer. However, in the local area, it has a wide range of uses and with its damping fork at the front and the relatively fat wheels, it handles the terrain very well. You’ll probably have to look further for a better mushroom bike. The Orginale side bags hold a good amount of everyday groceries, so you can park the car and choose the bike for your trip to the store.
The bike has a powerful Yamaha engine that delivers a full 75 Nm and a battery of 630 WH. This gives a range of about 120 km, which is very good.
The battery can either be recharged in the bike or taken in to be made there. The seating position is good and the bike comes with efficient lighting technology that illuminates well on late fall evenings.
The bike is a statement in itself and is suitable for those who want to own something distinctive or a model that is outside the mainstream segment.
The solutions are as practical as they are fun and you can use the bike almost anywhere.
The instrument is easy to use and self-explanatory and allows you to control the amount of motor support, read the battery capacity, operate the lights or support if you have to walk next to the bike while the electric motor pushes the bike forward at walking speed.
The gear is stepless and is changed by turning the gearshift that sits inside the handlebar as shown in the picture above. The Booster Easy is a real charmer and I’ve mainly used the bike on cold fall days. If it gets slippery, I just let a little air out of the fat tires and it still sits like a ball. Today we count 18 November and the booster is still going strong in everyday life to the delight of everyone in the family. Booster is simply a practical and festive bike that makes everyday life a little more practical and a little more festive. The bike can be purchased online at the following address Yamaha-motor.eu for NOK 26,900.
