INTRODUCING THE WORLD’S MOST ADVANCED LIGHTING SYSTEM
#image_title
All versions of the 2025 TRACER 9 feature a cornering light system. In a world first, Yamaha is bringing sophisticated adaptive Matrix LED headlight technology to the TRACER 9 GT and TRACER 9 GT+ models. The technology consists of a matrix of multiple LEDs for low and high beam connected to a camera integrated into the upper part of the headlight unit, automatically sensing surrounding traffic, natural light sources and weather conditions. Based on this information, it dynamically adjusts the brightness and light distribution to provide optimal illumination at all times. The system increases driver confidence when driving at night, distributing light in a way that tries to ensure that other road users are not dazzled, while adjusting the illuminated area for the driver. The Matrix LED headlight matrix works with the six-axis IMU to adjust the light beam when a narrow angle of seven degrees or more is detected, creating a more comfortable driving experience. While the adaptive headlights are fully automatic, the driver can choose between three levels of sensitivity, while also having the option to override manually at any time while driving. POWERED BY CP3 The critically acclaimed CP3 engine needs little introduction. Known for its high torque and incredible mid-range, the latest EU5+ version of the three-cylinder 890cc engine delivers a peak power of 119 hp at 10,000 rpm and 93 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Of course, the numbers only tell part of the story and don’t convey the full driving experience that has made the TRACER 9 one of Europe’s best-selling sports tourers. The 2025 incarnation is the most balanced TRACER 9 yet. It delivers a brilliantly engaging ride thanks to its renowned linear torque curve from low to medium revs. With optimized gear ratios and a distinctive growl from the dual exhaust system and sound-tuned intake, the TRACER 9 delivers an addictive ride that puts a grin on the driver’s face every time they step on the gas.
For all the playfulness of the TRACER 9, the CP3 is a joy to ride, with the perfect blend of sporting agility and touring comfort. Combined with Yamaha’s adjustable riding modes and standard assist and slipper clutch, the TRACER 9 is a super-smooth and versatile motorcycle capable of adapting to the rider’s individual needs. LIGHTWEIGHT CF-CAST ALUMINUM FRAME Yamaha’s aluminum Deltabox frame perfectly complements the CP3 engine, providing a high degree of rigidity for an engaging and sporty riding experience. This is produced using Yamaha’s proprietary CF (controlled filling) casting process, which enables the construction of an extremely lightweight and strong frame with consistently varying wall thicknesses. This enables a fine-tuned design with stiffness optimized for premium handling. A holistic design approach sees the Deltabox frame connected to an extended aluminum swingarm and steel subframe. It’s slightly longer, yet lighter than before, to provide more space for rider and passenger. The combination contributes to a motorcycle with unprecedented high-speed stability and the carrying capacity required of a motorcycle designed to transport two people and their luggage in style and comfort. Combined with lightweight wheels and high-specification KYB suspension, the 2025 TRACER 9 delivers a smooth and safe riding experience – without compromise. FULL LUGGAGE CAPACITY WITH THREE BOXES The 2025 TRACER 9 is luggage ready, allowing for the easy fitting of removable 30 liter hard side cases (standard on TRACER 9 GT and GT+) and/or a 34 or 45 liter top box from the official Yamaha accessory range. Designed to be fully integrated into the motorcycle, the original Yamaha hard cases are easily operated with the smart key technology found on the TRACER 9 GT and TRACER 9 GT+. The TRACER 9 is designed to carry up to 193 kg, allowing rider and passenger to travel without compromise, underlining the model’s capabilities as a versatile sports tourer. Also new to the 2025 TRACER 9 models is an integrated storage compartment on the right side of the tank. It contains a USB socket and provides an easily accessible small storage space for wallets, documents and other small items that are nice to have close at hand. INTEGRATED DRIVE MODES All TRACER 9 models benefit from five drive modes (three preset and two customizable) that are fully integrated with the six-axis IMU and other technologies, such as the comprehensive suite of lean-sensitive driver aids, cruise control, electronic suspension and, where fitted, the Y-AMT transmission. These driving modes, ‘Sport’, ‘Street’, ‘Rain’, ‘Custom 1’ and ‘Custom 2’ can be switched on the fly using a control on the redesigned right-hand switch layout. Factory modes are preset with different levels of intervention to suit the varying conditions, while
The customization options allow the rider to adjust the individual parameters in the YRC menu of the TFT, or by using the app. When using the app, any new customized YRC settings will be uploaded and made available to the rider the next time the app is connected to the motorcycle. 7″ FULL-COLOR TFT DASHBOARD WITH HIGH SPECIFICATION All versions of TRACER 9 are equipped with the same comprehensive 7″ TFT dashboard. The meter has three different themes to match the driver’s preferences and driving style, with additional layouts for navigation, music and calls. Each theme is designed to emphasize the different aspects of the TRACER 9’s character, from a stripped-back sports design to an information-packed touring layout and a more casual, design-driven display that shows core details in a visual theme inspired by Yamaha’s Jin-Ki Kanno development philosophy. The TFT dashboard is adapted for use with Garmin’s Motorize app, which includes a subscription to the full navigation service as standard (TRACER 9 GT and TRACER 9 GT+), providing a great navigation experience on live maps. The dashboard is also fully integrated with all of TRACER 9’s standard and accessory features, such as Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) driving modes, tire pressure monitoring systems and heated accessories. LIGHTWEIGHT SPINFORGED WHEELS AND DEDICATED BRIDGESTONE TIRES The TRACER 9 is manufactured using Yamaha-exclusive SpinForge technology, with wheels that are lighter and stronger than those produced using more traditional processes. This provides a corresponding reduction in inertia for even greater agility and improved fuel economy. The 2025 TRACER 9 also boasts a change in rim thickness on the rear wheel, optimizing rigidity. The wheels are paired with Bridgestone BATTLAX SPORT TOURING T32 tires that were developed specifically for the TRACER 9. The internal structure of the tires is designed to complement and enhance the handling characteristics of the TRACER 9, typically reducing the weight of the front wheel assembly by around 200g, with a saving of 300g at the rear. Together, the package contributes to a low wet weight of 212 kg and optimized handling in a variety of conditions. FULLY ADJUSTABLE HIGH-QUALITY COASTAL SUSPENSION – SEMI-ACTIVE ON GT MODELS All 2025 TRACER 9 Series models feature front and rear suspension units that allow the driver to adjust the settings and find the best setup for their individual needs and preferences. The GT models also feature electronically adjustable suspension units, which have been developed specifically for the TRACER 9 in collaboration with KYB. KADS (KYB Actimatic Damper System), is the most advanced suspension system found on any Yamaha production motorcycle. This ‘semi-active’ system is baked into the motorcycle’s electronics and dynamically adjusts damping and ride quality using real-time data recorded by the six-axis IMU. This can be the angle of lean, load, acceleration and the rate of suspension travel. All of this adds up to a sporty ride without compromising on comfort.
The driver can choose between different modes at the touch of a button, and the dynamics are further determined by the selected YRC driving mode that provides a firmer, sportier setting in Sport mode, and a greater focus on comfort in Street and Rain modes. KADS is further integrated into other advanced systems, such as Brake Control, Adaptive Cruise Control and Unified Braking System. The result is a confidence-inspiring driving experience that adapts to the wide range of environments in which this versatile model is designed to be driven. MORE COMFORTABLE ERGONOMICS With a focus on improved comfort for touring, the revised ergonomics are a significant change to the 2025 TRACER 9 Series, with a modified relationship between the handlebar, footrests and seat providing a more comfortable riding experience for both rider and passenger, without compromising the machine’s sporting capabilities. Despite being 150g lighter, the new rear frame is 50mm longer than the previous generation TRACER 9, resulting in a more generous passenger seat. The driver’s seat has been reshaped and is now flatter, with more padding for added comfort. Despite the data showing an increased seat height of 845 mm, most drivers will find that the 2025 TRACER 9 is more accessible, especially as the waist width has been reduced by reshaping the front area of the saddle. This means a safer and more confident experience, especially for shorter riders. The seat has two height settings, allowing drivers to optimize the ergonomics to best match their physique and personal preferences. The seat can be raised by 15mm without the need for tools, while a heated seat is available as an option from Yamaha’s range of genuine accessories. Y-AMT- YAMAHA AUTOMATED MANUAL TRANSMISSION Yamaha’s innovative Y-AMT (Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission) is standard on the TRACER 9 GT+ and can be selected in place of traditional gearing on the other twoTRACER 9 editions. The system gives the driver the choice between a fully automatic transmission and a finger-operated manual transmission with an electronically controlled autoclutch for a completely new driving experience. Y-AMT’s Manual Transmission (MT) offers a whole new way to experience the dynamics of Yamaha’s renowned CP3 engine. With a closer and more refined connection to the brain than the feet, the hands are one of the most tactile and powerful tools the human body has. Shifting gears by hand alone, as opposed to the foot and hand combination, is not only faster – it also requires less thinking time, allowing the driver to hyper-focus on throttle and brake control, downforce, body position and grip to intensify driving, especially in corners. MT is designed for sporty driving and when the driver wants to stay active. The system allows for faster and smoother shifting when the driver wants to maximize engine power. Gear shifts are activated through a tactile rocker switch conveniently located at the driver’s left fingertips. Drivers can either use their thumb and forefinger to shift with the plus and minus levers, or they can opt for a single-finger operation for sportier driving, using just the forefinger to shift by pulling the plus lever to shift up and pushing it to shift down. This provides the ultimate sporty driving experience.
With no clutch to operate, riders can more easily time gear changes while focusing on track selection, braking and other controls. Without a traditionally mounted shift pedal, riders are also better able to position their lower body through corners – providing excellent cornering stability and creating an even more confidence-inspiring connection with the motorcycle. At standstill and low speeds, the Y-AMT system controls clutch and gearbox operation, making the machine easier to control when starting, slowing down and in heavy traffic. The system completely takes over shifting functions when in one of the two AT modes, but can be overridden using the joystick. Y-AMT works in conjunction with Yamaha’s electronic throttle control (YCC-T) and switchable driving modes. Y-AMT provides a dynamic riding experience and allows the rider to focus more on the road ahead while enjoying quick and smooth gear changes. ‘D’ mode is ideal for commuting and journeys where the driver wants a more relaxed ride, providing a softer, more confident, fully automated shift that’s ideal for low-speed and city driving. ‘D+’ mode holds each gear for longer, providing more engine braking when needed, more powerful acceleration and a fresher riding experience. The rider can switch seamlessly between the two riding modes by pressing the button on the right-hand switch layout, while Yamaha Ride Control further tailors the riding experience to the individual’s preferences, allowing three power profiles and the degree of intervention of the stability control systems to be customized. Switching between MT and AT modes is easy and can be done on the fly by activating the button on the right-hand switch layout, allowing the rider to transform nature into TRACER 9 in a flash. NEW SMARTPHONE CONNECTION All versions of the 2025 TRACER 9 are equipped with an updated 7″ TFT dashboard, while GT and GT+ models feature full smartphone connectivity as standard. In recognition of the growing number of customers using their devices to enhance their driving experience, the TRACER 9 is now equipped with an integrated storage area on the right side of the fuel tank. This has a USB charging port which means the device can be connected while driving. Operators can connect their smartphone to the machine using Yamaha’s free MyRide app. The connection can be made via USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth®. Once connected, the driver can view information about incoming calls, emails and messages, while both drivers and passengers can listen to music and answer calls with a Bluetooth® connected headset (not included). The smartphone integrates seamlessly with TRACER 9’s display and switchgear. The driver can view menus and control device functions through the new controls on the left handle. In addition, when connected to the motorcycle, riders can set up Yamaha Ride Control’s rider-customized modes and set their own preferred power curve, engine braking and engagement levels for TRACER 9’s many electronic rider aids.

NEXT GENERATION DESIGN AND STYLING

The TRACER 9 is the very embodiment of sports touring. The design team’s challenge was to create a model with the extraordinary comfort of a dedicated tourer, while retaining its compact and sporty nature. The new fairing maintains the compact expression of the previous generation TRACER 9’s body, but spends a lot of time in the wind tunnel to optimize airflow around the driver and passenger. The standard model has a manually adjustable windshield, providing 50 mm of adjustment in 10 steps, while the GT and GT+ variants use an electronically operated screen with a total of 100 mm of adjustment. The adjustment is carried out from a button on the handlebar, and can also be operated while driving. The electric screen provides an additional 25 mm of height for extra wind protection, as well as a 25 mm lower setting for summer and low-speed driving. The shape of the windscreen is also designed to carefully control airflow, reducing turbulence and wind pressure on the driver’s lower body. The screen on the GT and GT+ also has an additional spoiler at the bottom of the screen for even better wind protection. Designed around the new chassis package, the fairing ensures that low-speed maneuverability is improved through a revised front fork bracket that increases the steering angle of the handlebar and reduces the minimum turning radius from 3.1 m to 2.9 m. MAINTENANCE-FRIENDLY CHAIN TRACER 9 GT+ gets DID’s latest maintenance-friendly chain This features DLC-coated rollers for excellent durability and reduced resistance. As a result, chain life is increased and the need for adjustment is reduced, as well as making the motorcycle easier to push around. Another small but practical change has been made to the fuel pump transmitter, which has been optimized to provide an even more accurate reading through the TFT dashboard. In addition to Adaptive Cruise Control and the Unified Brake System and Forward Collision Warning, which use the front millimeter wave radar, the TRACER 9 GT+ is equipped with a rear millimeter wave radar that provides blind spot detection. All of these systems use data from the front and rear millimeter wave radars to detect the distance and presence of vehicles around the motorcycle. The compact radar units weigh just 200g and are housed behind integrated covers at the front and rear of the TRACER 9 GT+. ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) The TRACER 9 GT+ is equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and this advanced system offers all the benefits of cruise control along with the ability to automatically maintain a fixed distance to the vehicle in front. Working together with Y-AMT, fully automatic shifting and adaptive cruise control will significantly reduce long-distance driving fatigue. The integrated front millimeter-wave radar continuously measures the distance to the vehicle directly in front of the TRACER 9 GT+ and sends signals to the ACC, which automatically controls cruise speed, braking and acceleration to suit the road situation as it develops information and data.
ACC is adjustable and the driver can select the distance to the vehicle in front in four levels, even at speed. This is shown in the display with one line for the shortest distance and four lines for the longest distance. ACC offers a number of benefits, including reduced driver fatigue and increased safety and fluidity by having a constant following distance. When ACC is active, a green icon (with gray for standby) appears on the TFT dashboard, displaying between one and four white bars under a car icon to confirm the selected following distance. When ACC detects that the rider is too close to the vehicle in front, or if it detects that the bike’s current acceleration/deceleration state will soon cause the rider to get too close, a reminder appears on the dashboard that action is required to avoid getting too close. ACC operates between 30 km/h and 160 km/h – in first and second gears from 30 km/h, in third and fourth gears from 40 km/h, and in fifth and sixth gears from 50 km/h. The speed can be increased and decreased in steps of either 1 km/h or 10 km/h by pressing once or holding down the adjustment switch. ACC is deactivated by braking or rolling the throttle forward, past the throttle stop. This easy-to-read ACC status is displayed in all screen modes, including navigation mode, and is a great aid to the driver – especially on busy highways. ACC’ s “passing aid” accelerates the TRACER 9 GT+ more smoothly than normal when it senses that the motorcycle’s turn signals are on and that the motorcycle is making an overtaking maneuver. ACC is also integrated with the engine, brakes and electronic suspension. To maintain the pre-selected distance to the vehicle in front, the engine brake and brakes are activated – in that order – to slow down the motorcycle. At the same time, the electronic suspension’s damping force is adjusted to reduce diving when the brakes are applied to help maintain chassis stability. With its ability to automatically intervene and adjust speed, throttle, engine brake, braking and suspension when following a vehicle – as well as when cornering and overtaking – the sophisticated ACC provides a natural and seamless riding experience. The first time ACC has been used on a Yamaha, this class-leading electronic technology takes highway comfort to a whole new level. The easy-to-use ACC increases the rider’s mental and physical endurance and adds comfort and convenience, making the TRACER 9 GT+ Yamaha’s ultimate Sport Tourer. RADAR INTEGRATED ASSISTED UNIFIED BRAKE SYSTEM FRONT AND REAR
#image_title
As the flagship model in Yamaha’s Sport Touring range, the TRACER 9 GT+ also uses the radar-coupled Unified Brake System (UBS). The new system is an active device that provides increased control using data from the millimeter wave radar and a six-axis IMU (inertial measurement unit) and helps to regulate front and rear braking force via the Bosch hydraulic power unit. The Unified Brake System is connected to the radar and works in conjunction with, and in addition to, other systems connected to the braking system on the TRACER 9. The radar continuously monitors its surroundings, providing additional safety by intervening when the motorcycle is too close to a vehicle in front.
The radar-coupled Unified braking system continuously analyzes the distance to vehicles ahead using data from the millimeter wave radar. If the system calculates that the driver’s braking is insufficient to prevent a collision with the vehicle in front, it will increase the braking pressure of the front and rear wheels to slow down the TRACER 9 GT+. When activated, the ACC system will also automatically brake the TRACER 9 GT+ when a pre-selected following distance is reached, but as soon as the driver brakes manually, ACC is deactivated – at which point the radar-coupled Unified braking system will intervene if it determines that the driver’s braking is not sufficient to prevent a collision. The system provides additional braking assistance and will only intervene when the front collision warning is switched on and the driver is braking – it is not a collision avoidance system and can be overridden by the driver. The second element is the Unified braking system, which adjusts the distribution of braking force between the front and rear brakes. When only the front brake is applied by the driver, the hydraulic unit automatically applies braking force to the rear wheel, with the degree of engagement calculated using IMU data related to changes in acceleration and lean angle. When only the rear brake is used, the system will sometimes – but not always – apply additional braking force to the front wheel via the hydraulic unit, depending on the brake pedal movement and IMU data of the bike’s behavior. The third element is cornering brake control. In practice, this is a system that takes into account driving data from the IMU, such as lean angle, and immediately adjusts the rider’s braking force to prevent wheel slip. The radar-coupled Unified braking system is also connected to the electronic suspension. As well as helping to regulate front and rear braking forces, it adjusts front and rear damping to help the ABS work whether the BC is turned ON or OFF. BLIND ZONE DETECTION Using the rear millimeter wave radar, the rider will be alerted via indicators integrated into the rearview mirrors if there is a vehicle in the bike’s “blind zone”. The radar will monitor vehicles approaching from behind and determine if they are in areas that may not be clearly visible to the rider; if so, the indicator in the mirror will flash as a warning. Although this function “controls” the area around the motorcycle, it is only a support function and still requires the driver to control manually while driving. SMART KEY AND CENTRAL LOCK SYSTEM
#image_title
The TRACER 9 GT/Y-AMT and GT are equipped with a smart key system that enables keyless operation of the ignition, fuel cap and steering wheel lock. In addition, the system controls the locks of standard side bags and any top box. A Body Control Module (BCM) receives signals from the smart key so that the boxes can be removed or opened/unlocked. For maximum convenience, these run on a wireless power supply, without the need to insert or remove connectors or cables.
