This weekend, Indian sin Veteranforening had its summer meeting and there were many cool veterans with foot clutches and hand gears from both Norway and Sweden.
“We’re talking about treasures that were produced between 1900 and 1950, and bikes that were produced later than 1953 are struggling to fit in,” say the guys with a smile.
Many of these bikes are irreplaceable and have a market value of almost a million Norwegian kroner, if anyone even thinks about selling them!
This Swede lost his treasure off a cliff on the way to Vrådal earlier today, but luckily no one was on the bike or in the sidecar when it plummeted into the rough terrain and had to be hoisted up by crane.
Fortunately, the owner escaped with only minimal damage to the front fender and a scratch to his pride.
In 2023, Indian will organize the annual “Indian International Rally” at Straand Hotel in Vrådal in the period 3.
– 6.
August.
More than 300 vintage bikes are expected to arrive at the hotel and an extensive program will be held in this event.
Arne Bjørn Hoel is the event general and is responsible for planning and implementation in collaboration with the team needed to lift the event next year.
MC-avisa will inform all readers through the coming winter and spring so that those who wish can take part in this.
Many other teams and groups also found their way to Straand this weekend, and the whole thing turned out to be a miniature Straand meeting, with a great atmosphere and lots of happy drivers enjoying the good weather and warm asphalt in Telemark.
Breakout MC was on a blue tour and enjoyed the day on warm Telemark roads on fat bikes and lots of good mood.
But it wasn’t just the bigwigs who came to Straand this weekend, the local guys who have taken good care of their Tempo Corvettes, which they received as confirmation gifts 50 years ago, also shone over the parking lot this weekend.
Passionate and festive and a little bit unpretentious.
So folks, no need to step off the gas, the asphalt is still warm and the gravel is still dusty.
We still have a few good months left in the season and these should be enjoyed.
Use the time well and enjoy life.
