Four of the MC rooms are located on the hotel’s second floor in a separate wing.
The corridor to these rooms is dedicated to the motorcycle magazine.
Here you’ll find pictures from Norwegian travel articles that have appeared in the magazine.
In addition, you’ll find a rack filled with reading material from us.
The idea is that hotel guests should be able to enjoy good motorcycle material during their stay.
There’s also some information about the four men who have been given rooms here, and why.
We’re talking about “twin rooms”.
But instead of the beds being next to each other, these are placed one after the other, with the heads facing in opposite directions.
Here, friends can lie around and chat about today’s driving experiences, or plan tomorrow’s stage.
And if you can’t sleep, you can read the motorcycle newspaper.
In each room, an entire wall is filled with a photo collage of the given motorcyclist on a trip in Telemark, starting from the hotel.
MC-avisen’s own Ole-Andreas Isdahl, who has been the driving force behind both the Straand meeting and the HubRiding concept, has been given the first room in the wing, which contains a total of four similar rooms.
“This guy is a fountain of ideas, and he’s almost unstoppable once he’s on the trail of something.
Both the Straand meeting and the HubRiding concept have helped to bring many new customers to the hotel.
Terje Bredal has the next room in this wing.
Terje, who is the owner of Speed Motorcenter, has been very active during the Straand meetings that have been arranged.
In addition, he has established MC Touring Norway, which, among other things, bases overnight stays on its tours at hotels like Straand.
Speed also has an exhibition of bikes at Straand Hotel, which can also be hired out and are also used by Lars Arne when he guides HubRiding tours.
Bjørn Richard Johansen has the next room in the corridor.
Bjørn Richard sits on the board of Straand Hotel, and has been instrumental in taking the concept in the direction it has now taken.
He is very involved in the Straand meeting and is an important supporter of the hosts.
The last man in the wing’s room is Arve Lønnum, who through his work in MCF, the motorcycle importers’ association, works to promote interest in motorcycles in Norway.
In addition, the association is working on benefits for motorcyclists and lowering the tax level on motorcycles.
Lønnum also directs the commercial in which Pål Anders Ullevålseter visits the hotel in a slightly untraditional way.
The latest MC room is located on the hotel’s ground floor, with a window facing the large terrace.
The room is a tribute to WIMA and their leader Eli Johanne Steene.
Eli Johanne is very involved in the Straand meeting, where she works to recruit members, and does a very important job to ensure that the girls get their deserved place in the MC environment in their own way and on their own terms.
Of course, this room has a standard double bed, as girls on tour like to spend the night this way.
As if the motorcycle rooms weren’t enough, Straand Hotel is continuing to build on its concept of being the first choice for motorcyclists, and this year they have built a huge carport at the end of the parking lot.
In this you’ll also find a workshop room that will be filled with the necessary equipment so that visiting motorcyclists can make repairs if necessary.
We spent the night at the hotel
May 16, and were not the only guests at the hotel, even though the following day was
May 17th.
Of course, we also came into contact with the four other motorcyclists who were at the hotel that night.
We believe that Straand Hotel is about to succeed in something very important.
You can almost expect there to be other motorcyclists at the hotel, and this will almost always provide you with pleasant company and new acquaintances, because most of us motorcyclists are normally quite outgoing.
The fact that the hotel is always home to motorcyclists will in itself make it even more attractive to come here.
It doesn’t hurt that the roads in the area offer plenty of driving experiences, and that you can combine trips here whether you come from the south, west or east.
Bravo to Straand Hotel – keep up the good work.
PS: MC-avisa has from earlier gotten its “own” MC-room; room number 218.
