The concept is promoted on the website www.hubriding.no became very popular and created a whole new social arena for motorcyclists with driving pleasure and great nature experiences in Telemark as the main ingredients.

– “The concept we developed during the coronavirus pandemic has given us at Straand Hotel in Telemark new opportunities for growth based on our long traditions as a bus station.
The hotel is a great place for great experiences on a motorcycle in a region that has a lot to offer in terms of culture and food traditions,” says Katrine Straand, hotel manager at Straand Hotel.
Telemark has been focusing on road safety for a long time
– “Telemark has a long tradition of focusing on rider development, and many people are familiar with the traffic safety days for motorcyclists that have been arranged with great success at Geiteryggen,” says an enthusiastic Trond Olsen, coordinator of the event.
“We are very pleased that we have now put in place an arrangement where we also offer a social framework, which means that we can enjoy each other’s company with a focus on motorcycles throughout the weekend.

– “I think it’s great that we’re getting a new road safety event in West Telemark based on the work we’ve done in Grenland over many years.
The entire working group that has developed the event at Straand is looking forward to a weekend where we put the spotlight on the everyday motorcyclist’s opportunity to become even safer on their own motorcycle,” says Jan Petter Lyng, who is a key member of the working group and one of the initiators of the long-standing road safety days at Geiteryggen.
Førerutvikling.no and local instructors are coming
Eddie Mathisen, who is passionate about safety for motorcyclists, provides instructors and the equipment needed to arrange the exercises at the airstrip.
Eddie runs the business Førerutvikling.no, which focuses on driver development courses for street motorcyclists.
– Motorcyclists come to our courses and events to become better drivers.
They become more confident in their own driving, and we set up exercises in safe conditions without obstacles that create a good arena for learning and mastering.
We also bring our bus, with a stage and sound system, to create the right atmosphere for the event in Fyresdal,” says Eddie Mathisen, who is also a key member of the Straand Driver Development working group.
In addition to Eddie’s team, there will be local instructors from Telemark with experience from similar events in Grenland who will contribute to a professionally sound program.
Welcome – Bikers Welcome
– “We’re building on the best of the many years of road safety days at Geiteryggen and combining this with national driver development expertise that we hope will appeal to everyday motorcyclists.
We supplement the experience with a focus on driving experiences on the roads in the region and set the event in a social setting that is spiced up with good food and many good conversations,” concludes Lars Arne Straand, CEO of Straand Hotel in Vrådal in Telemark.
