Press release, Straand Hotel:
Vrådal/Telemark – 15.
February 2022 – The historic Straand Hotel in Vrådal is continuously working on innovation and product development for motorcyclists and guests with an interest in classic cars and bikes.
This year, we are launching a new annual event focusing on driver development in close collaboration with the best research and driver development environments we have in Norway.
The weekend 27.
to 29.
May, there will be a driver development program for motorcyclists at Straand, where the main part of the driving on Saturday will take place at the airstrip in Fyresdal.
5th generation
In 2020, Lars Arne and Katrine Straand developed the HUBriding concept as the 5th.
In 2020, Lars Arne Straand and Katrine Straand, as the fifth generation to run Straand Hotel, developed the HUBriding concept together with a group of key people in the motorcycle community, which offers 13 wonderful day trips for motorcyclists based at the hotel.
The concept, which is promoted on the website www.HUBrining.no, became very popular and created a whole new social arena for motorcyclists with driving pleasure and great nature experiences in Telemark as the main ingredients.
Shuttle station with a focus on motorcycles
– “The concept we developed during the coronavirus pandemic has given us at Straand Hotel in Telemark new opportunities for growth based on our long traditions as a bus station.
The hotel is a great place for great experiences on a motorcycle in a region that has a lot to offer in terms of culture and food traditions,” says Katrine Straand, hotel manager at Straand Hotel.
From Geiteryggen to Straand/Fyresdal
– “Telemark has a long tradition of focusing on driver development, and many people are familiar with the traffic safety days for motorcycles that have been arranged with great success at Geiteryggen,” says a committed Trond Olsen, coordinator of the event.
We are very pleased that Jan Petter Lyng and his team are with us to arrange Straand Driver Development 27.
to 29.
May.
Our goal is to continue and bring new elements into the annual Geiteryggen event by uniting old and new heads and to build on this well-established event.
– Based at Straand Hotel, we will bring together the best in research and rider development to offer motorcyclists great riding experiences and new learning this weekend,” says a committed Olsen.
Knowledge and skills will be combined with great experiences, just as we can at Straand Hotel in Vrådal.
Most of the skills training will take place at the airstrip in Fyresdal, but we will focus on driver development already at the hotel stairs.
The float trip up along Nisser and Vråvatn will be done in groups where there will be an opportunity for guidance along the way by knowledgeable instructors.

to 29.
May,” says Lars Arne Straand, Managing Director of Straand Hotel in Vrådal, Telemark.
After four years of highly successful motorcycle meetings at Straand Hotel in Telemark, we are now focusing on a new and customized offer for motorcyclists.
We will create a new arena for good experiences for motorcyclists with a strong focus on driver development combined with good riding and driving experiences.
Building on the success of Geiteryggen
– “We’re building on the best of the many years of road safety days at Geiteryggen and combining this with the driver development competence environments, the national traffic research environment and a focus on driving experiences and the roads in the region,” says Lars Arne Straand.
The aim is to create good riding experiences and increase skill levels through training and rider development.
As always, the event is set in a social setting with motorcycles, knowledge, good food and many good conversations.
In the evening, we will learn more about how the researchers think and how they work to make us even better and safer riders.
Driving to Vrådal is in itself a wonderful experience and you can choose whether you want to spice it up with HUB riding or social activities.
Set aside your weekend now and book your place as soon as possible.
