On Friday, the meeting was officially opened by meeting general Trond Olsen.
In addition, everyone was welcomed by both the deputy mayor of Kviteseid and the hotel hosts Katrine and Lars Arne Straand.
In addition to this, there were several presentations, all motorcycle-related.
Driving school teacher Tore Johannesen from the traffic forum, together with university lecturer Jan Petter Wigum, has published a new textbook on motorcycle driving.
The two of them have spent a lot of time on a motorcycle seat, so we’re sure their experience will be useful in training new motorcyclists.
In addition to this, Eli Johanne Steene gave a presentation about WIMA’s activities, and one of WIMA’s young members, Runa Grydeland, gave a presentation about her first really long trip on a motorcycle.
Over the course of a month, she visited all of Norway’s “kapp” points.
It was exciting to hear about how the young motorcyclist had planned and completed the trip alone.
Peter Ozsvat Carlsson talked about a new concept; “Rebels & Classics”.
Here, charity work will be combined with an interest in classic motorcycles.
According to hotel manager Lars Arne Straand, the hotel is fully booked and has accommodated over 300 people in total.
In addition, many travelers have arranged accommodation in other ways, and some day visitors are also stopping by.
Today, Saturday, the event’s participants are in full swing with HUB Riding and test driving the event’s demo bikes.
Everyone is enjoying themselves despite a slightly cooler fall weather than what we are used to from the previous years’ meetings.
