Visit Norway summarizes the main points from 2020 in this way:

The statistics show that the proportion of travelers per
The statistics show that the proportion of travelers per county is evenly distributed between 60-70% of the population and that two out of three traveled to Norway in 2020.
The average length of a trip was six days, and the age distribution of travelers is evenly distributed.
The figures show that the elderly have traveled just as much as the young and middle-aged.

Visit Norway goes on to say that we have become more impulsive and that the time from inspiration to departure has decreased considerably.
“We therefore want to be able to book late and favor accommodations where we can cancel without a fee.
In other words, we want maximum flexibility.

There are major differences in preferences between adults and younger travelers.
Adults are concerned with infection control and predictability, while younger people seek excitement and unique experiences that require greater flexibility and perhaps a willingness to take risks.

Motorcyclists are represented from all age groups, but we know that older people travel more than younger people.
But the good news is that we as a group can operate very independently as we own the means of transport ourselves and are therefore not dependent on others.
And this freedom is precisely what motorcyclists love!

We develop our own tourism products:

According to Professor Tor W Andreassen at the Norwegian School of Economics, motorcyclists are at the forefront of tourism innovation.
Professor Andreassen refers to the development of the HUB-Riding concept, where the motorcycle industry itself has developed a future-oriented tourism product that combines the use of the road network, infrastructure, information technology and social media to create a completely new tourism platform under the auspices of the historic hotels and restaurants.
The concept first launched by Straand Hotel in Telemark is now being further developed in five new regions and hotels that will offer the same.
Everything is presented at HUBriding.no.

Our industry also has a good influx of resource people with the expertise and promise to launch new businesses and new offers for national and international motorcycle tourism.
Terje Bredal has perhaps Norway’s largest pool of rental bikes and already serves Norwegian and international customer groups who want to experience the best of Norway.
You can do this with or without Terje as your travel companion.

What will the 2021 season look like?

Motorcycle dealers are reporting very good sales figures in the first month of the year, in fact significantly better than last year, and we won’t be surprised if 2021 is an all-time high.
Motorcyclists have been affected by the pandemic and are more than ready for good experiences on their bikes.
The touring segment is growing and more and more people are going on trips with their own bikes.
Both supply and demand are growing, so it’s expected that there will be crowding and high demand in both the new and used markets this year.
We believe that more people than last year will realize their motorcycle dreams, and we will see many more motorcycles on the road this year – and that will be gratifying.
