Røros hotel has started work on developing HUB-riding routes in fantastic riding terrain

The HUB-riding wave is underway, and if the figures from this season are to be believed, thousands of Norwegian motorcyclists have shown that they really appreciate the Historic Hotels and Restaurants’ commitment to HUB-riding.

This year, Straand Hotel in Vrådal, headed by Lars Arne and Katrine Straand, developed 13 new and highly varied Eldorado routes for motorcyclists, and this is probably here to stay.
The hotel chain De Historiske has now signed up and is in the process of creating similar routes in other parts of the country.

What is HUB-riding:

HUB-riding is an offer for motorcyclists who want to travel into an area, stay at one hotel and ride day trips in an established route network.
The hotels in the De historiske chain offer grids and services tailored to the motorcyclist in the form of washing and drying facilities, service offers, menus and facilities that make the stay exciting, easy and social.

Individuals will meet like-minded people, groups will be able to pursue their hobby, enjoy themselves and do only what they like most, namely ride a motorcycle on roads that are hand-picked for you.
The routes are also posted as GPX files that can be loaded directly onto your GPS.

Røros has a lot of driving terrain and other things to offer:

Hotel director Terje Lysholm has jumped on board as the second hotel in the chain to invest in this, and last week started work on setting up new routes with Team BikerDudes.
“Røros has a lot of exciting things to offer and even though they have a lot of good asphalt roads available, they will be heaviest on gravel.
Røros and the surrounding area with Femundsmarka, Hessdalen and Glåmåsfjella can offer insane gravel routes and experiences, and will be a mecca for those who want to explore mountains and gravel driving.

– The routes are designed so that everyone can drive them, but we also want to be able to offer challenges for the more experienced,” say the guys who create the routes.

During his visit to Tronfjellet, which has Norway’s second highest gravel road, the conditions last week were demanding to say the least, but incredibly fun, and Terje Bredal enjoyed himself with Haakon Olaisen.

The team running the routes starts their work with a map study before they arrive in Røros and meet local drivers in a separate meeting.
After a few adjustments, they started the test drive the next day to see if the routes can actually be driven.
During the test drive, the team has its own photographer who creates the image material for the route descriptions that are published.

Being a test driver for the HUB-riding concept comes at a price, and it doesn’t always go exactly as planned.
But the amazing experiences you’ll have along the way help us endure some sweat, aches and tears.

But when the end result and what we will eventually be able to offer motorcyclists is as fantastic as it will be here, then it’s all worth it.

Unfortunately, the weather has put an end to this season, but we will continue as soon as the snow is gone again.
In the case of Røros, we’ll be publishing three routes as early as this fall, with more to come as early as May next year.
Everyone can look forward to fantastic experiences on asphalt and gravel, and the threshold should be so low that everyone can enjoy this offer.

The offer will be published on the hotel’s own website, the chain’s website and on www.HUBriding.no.
News and changes will also be communicated in social media.

Stay tuned.
