Preparations for Straand Treffet 2019 are in full swing, and the administration has been in Vrådal this week to prepare for the event.
The hotel is starting to fill up, but we still have room in apartments and cabins!

Efficient as we are, we tested two of the 12 bikes nominated for this year’s Surprise of the Year award, namely the New Honda CB650R and the Moto Guzzi V85 TT, which were lent to us by importers Loxkel and Kellox.
Although we had a lot of rain on the trip, we became well acquainted with the machines, both of which are strong candidates for this year’s award.

The 2018 event was a huge success, and we’re working hard to make this year’s event even better.

More bikes for test rides:

This year we will have approx.
twice as many bikes for test rides.
Several new brands will be represented, and you will be able to test drive the very latest technology.
You’ll have 30 minutes at your disposal per test ride.
You’ll have 30 minutes per test ride, so you’ll be able to test ride your dream machine properly in some of the country’s very best riding terrain.

We can definitely recommend the Moto Guzzi V85 TT, which we are very impressed with.

All segments will be represented:

If you like street riding, we can definitely recommend the new Honda CB650R, which really delivers what Honda promises.
The CB650R is a fun motorcycle that delivers the goods in all types of riding, even simple touring if you find it acceptable to be a letterist back-packer.
We rode the machine in demanding conditions and have to say it really delivered.
Here you get updated technology and a lot of riding pleasure for a reasonable price.

Everyone can try enduro in Vrådal:

This year we have the pleasure of having Asbjørn Sletholdt, who is a branch manager in NMF, on the team.
Together with the Cross Center Snellingen and CBP in Skien, Asbjørn will make it possible for everyone who wants to try enduro in a simple course under expert guidance at the Straand hotel.
Anyone over the age of 10 can sign up.
If children under 15 are going to test drive, please send us a text message with their name and age so that we can prepare equipment for the little ones.

For other pilots, a driving list will be posted where you can book on Friday evening (max 20 drivers).

Further development of driver skills is important:

We want to be able to communicate research results and knowledge to drivers.
We have therefore worked hard to find good speakers who can further develop the individual’s knowledge platform and help them become better drivers.
In the time to come, we will tell you more about both the speakers and the topics to be covered.

Award ceremonies:

In 2018, the BMW GS 310 won the award for Surprise of the Year, and this year we have 12 nominees vying for this prestigious title in tough competition with all segments.

In addition, we will be awarding the prize for “People’s Favorite”, which will be chosen by the participants themselves on the basis of Saturday’s test drive.
Ballots will be available at the reception.

Broad media coverage:

MC-avisa will be present throughout the weekend to create podcasts, film clips, interviews and cover the event editorially.
Experienced motoring journalists will be on hand to share their experience and perhaps talk about the latest developments on the technology front.

We will keep you updated throughout the summer on further preparations for Straand Treffet 2019.
In 2018, we booked excellent weather with sunshine and 20 degrees, and of course we’ve done the same this year.
