Big hotel investment for bikers

De Historiske hotel og spisesteder partners with the motorcycle industry and tailors solutions for us – then just enjoy the journey, the hotels and the fantastic experiences.

Great commitment and mobilization for the MC people:

Det Historiske hotel og spisesteder, referred to as “De historiske”, is investing in us and is now making it possible for motorcyclists across the country to experience and enjoy a total of 87 hotels and eateries across Norway.
De historiske has created its own APP to organize offers and coordinate the services provided.
We have never seen such a large and comprehensive investment in motorcyclists as a customer group, and the director of the chain, Nils Henrik Gietle, fronts it all with great commitment.

You can meet “The Historic Ones” at the motorcycle fair coming weekend in the restaurant tent between hall B and hall C.

Director Sigmund Straand at Straand hotel in Telemark.

Straand hotel in Vrådal started it all in 2018:

It was all started by the Straand family in early 2018.
Fifth-generation hotel manager Sigmund Straand wanted to approach motorcyclists as a customer group and was determined that the fantastic hotel and the wonderful Telemark roads had a value for motorcyclists.
Together with Bjørn Richard Johansen and the hotel’s board of directors, they mobilized an intense effort and, through several activities, meetings and networking, paved the way for the birth of the Straand meeting, which took place in Telemark in September of the same year.

The event was a huge success and confirmed that the hotel and chain really had something to offer motorcycle enthusiasts.
The motorcycle industry mobilized, and participants were able to experience and try out some 40 new motorcycles and otherwise enjoy exciting lectures and panel discussions in the evening.

All in a stunning setting that only these hotels can offer.

It all worked so well that the Straand family and the hotel’s board of directors pursued the possibility of escalating the offer to include the entire hotel chain – no less than 87 hotels and restaurants throughout Norway.
The hotel chain’s CEO Nils Henrik Gietle liked the idea and had already taken steps to reach this particular target group.

The chain offers a total of 87 hotels and eateries, all with a distinctive character and identity and, of course, a long history.
The roads and experiences between the hotels are just as spectacular, and the chain is now working systematically to adapt its services to motorcyclists.
A separate standard has been drawn up for the services that hotels should be able to offer motorcyclists during their stay.

With pampering, fine dining, luxury and cultural experiences that no one else can offer, we recommend that you take the time to enjoy your stay at the hotels – it’s well worth it.

The motorcycle magazine will cover three of these routes, combining visits to at least 12 hotels with tests of new models this year.
Coverage of the hotels, routes and motorcycles will be published both online and in the magazine.

Stop by the restaurant tent and have a chat with Sigmund Straand, who will be representing “De historiske” at the MC fair this coming weekend.
