Gamlaværket is a proud member of the Historic Hotels and Restaurants in Norway. We now welcome all motorcycle guests through the Hubriding concept. Here, all motorcycle enthusiasts can experience Rogaland with its unique location by the fjord, sea and mountains. The routes that we have drawn up go through the changing landscape where last year we met mountains. Rogaland is also Norway's food dish with a great food culture and a wide range of the best ingredients sea and land can offer.
Route 1: Sky & Sea
Himmel & Hav is the route with open landscapes between sky and sea surrounded by fantastic sandy beaches and views created to be enjoyed.
Route 4: Nordfylket
This trip goes to Nordfylket and Vikingland. Then the trip goes to Skudeneshavn which can adorn itself with the title Norway's summer town.
Route 2: Tronåsen
Tronåsen was in its time the terror of all motorists. Both the T-Fords and the buses of the time climbed up and relaxed down the hill.
Route 5: Gloppedalsura
Experience one of Norway's best salmon rivers, Gloppedalsura which is Northern Europe's rock cairn, Byrkjedalstunet and the Jær beaches.
Route 3: Fjord & Fjell
Fjord & Fjell is an experience of the rare. Here you get to experience the world's longest and deepest underwater tunnel Ryfast on the way to Tau.
Route 6: Unesco Magma Geopark
The trip goes through the fantastic and unique landscape of the Unesco Magma Geopark. Remember a short stop at Nesvåg Lake and Motor Museum.
Gamlaværket Gjestegiveri
Gamlaværket was Sandnes' first industrial company all the way back to 1783 when Teglsteinsfabrikken was opened and became an important player in the city. It later became the Pottery Workshop of the traditional Sandnespotteriet and was transformed into a Guest House & Treatment Place in 1992. We have 38 charming rooms, 6 Meeting and Banquet Rooms, A la carte restaurant and Kafè Emanuels Plass. On the food side, we serve short-distance and local food that is rooted in traditions and history. We offer good breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day.
Our location in the center of Sandnes makes it easy to get out into the harsh landscape and visit all that the region has to offer for motorcycle enthusiasts. Gamlaværket, which is now part of HUBriding.no, has therefore been involved in developing five fantastic routes that make it possible to spend a week on experiences in this region. The five Hubriding routes offer a collection of carefully selected rides and nature experiences from the region.
The route network includes experiences of the coast and sea, fjords and mountains and also includes hilly terrain through Norway's food dish and the beautiful Jærske landscape. The HUBriding concept also provides services that the motorcyclist values and includes "Bikers welcome", washing facilities, drying facilities, secure parking and loan of tools. Hubriding
Fun-factor and swing guarantee
The grid offers all kinds of challenges and those who want to play will find opportunities for it. As for the turn guarantee, it is not often we find such signs in Norway, but we have found them and made them available to you.
Hubriding means that you, based on one of the Historic Hotels, choose from many defined driving routes located in the surrounding hotel. The routes we offer run in some of Norway's very best terrain and include tens of thousands of turns, spectacular mountain passes, asphalt, gravel, wonderful nature experiences and the opportunity to eat well at local establishments. In the routes we have added sights and restaurants you can visit. You will be able to choose between routes and route combinations that make it possible to choose day stages with varying length and degree of difficulty. The trails can be combined and built as you wish. In other words, you can drive as much as you can on the surface and in the terrain you like best.
We have developed the concept because we like the motorcyclist as a guest group and for you to avoid tedious moves from hotel to hotel and tedious transport stages that take time. You should simply be able to spend your time on what you like best, just drive and enjoy Norway and all the great things we have to offer. Not least the opportunity to return to a well-known and established base to enjoy the good life, good food and drink and a staff that makes good arrangements for you and your needs as a motorcyclist. In the route network, we have arranged for you to be able to see the most interesting sights in Norway. These places have been carefully selected by local motorcyclists and hotel staff. Many of the sights are hidden gems and experiences that can only be experienced through Hubriding.
Should something happen to you, or your bike, along the way, we offer assistance as soon as possible. In the event of a breakdown, our partners will be able to ensure that you can get a rental bike the very next day. We have arranged for washing, lubrication and drying if necessary.
