This is a happy day for us motorcyclists, because today the sun turns and we can start the countdown to a new and wonderful riding season. Just being able to start planning new projects and new trips creates joy. There’s a lot going on in the motorcycle market these days and we in the editorial team are absolutely sure that we will also have a lot to look forward to in 2025.
Wikipedia says the following about this important day:
In the northern hemisphere, the June solstice is the longest day of the year and is called the summer solstice, while the December solstice is the shortest and is called the winter solstice. In the southern hemisphere, the relationship is reversed. The winter solstice is the time once a year when the Earth is at the point in its orbit around the sun where the northern hemisphere is tilted furthest away from the sun. The day this occurs is the one with the shortest day length. When the sun is in the south-central part of the day, it has its annual lowest daily maximum height above the horizon (applies north of the equator and south of the Arctic Circle).
