MC Oslo opens Yamaha Store in Oslo

PRESS RELEASE

MC OSLO is a leader in BMW and Honda in Norway. Now we’re launching a new brand; in January we’re opening the doors to a new, pure Yamaha Store in Oslo.

MC OSLO is located in Strømsveien 344 in Oslo with our two brands, Honda and BMW. With around 1,000 bikes sold a year, we have now decided to move to even larger premises at Vollebekk, specifically Hans Møller Gasmannsvei 7, just a few minutes away from our current location. – This frees up what is probably Norway’s most visited “point of sales” for motorcycles. “Together with Yamaha, we decided to go for it. When we do something, we do it properly,” says Kim Harald Jøranli, head of MC OSLO. The new store will be one of the few single brand ATV and motorcycle stores in Norway of this size, specializing only in Yamaha country products to provide the best service and offer the largest product range, in addition to the country’s premier Yamaha workshop.

New general manager

The new Yamaha Store Oslo will be headed by a well-known profile from the traffic school industry. Robert Svendsen has worked for eight years as technical manager at Wright, with responsibility for the purchase, operation and maintenance of over 550 vehicles. He has also previously raced motocross for Yamaha, is a passionate enthusiast and well acquainted with the entire breadth of Yamaha’s product portfolio. – “I’ve long had a dream of making a living from my hobby and passion. When the opportunity to start and run a large motorcycle dealership together with the MC OSLO gang came along, the temptation was too great,” says Svendsen, who will also become an owner of the new venture.

Acquires Hestmann Motor AS

There can be no specialized Yamaha dealer without a specialized workshop. For many years, Hestmann Motor has been one of the most recognized Yamaha workshops in Norway. In recent years, Hestmann Motor has been owned and operated by Andreas Alm: – What is it they say, if you can’t beat them – join them? “I worked at MC OSLO for many years and know the guys well. Running my own business has been both fun and profitable, but I’m looking forward to being part of a large system and a good team. In addition to being the works manager, I’ll be joining the ownership side, and we’ll continue to deliver the same high quality and service that Hestmann Motor has always provided.

Yamaha Motor Scandinavia

Robert Augustsson is responsible for dealer development at Yamaha Motor Scandinavia and has the following comment: – “We want to further develop our dealer network, and the changes we are now making in the Oslo region are part of securing and strengthening our network and service to our customers. I know the owners behind MC OSLO very well from before, and I have seen at close range the power of the way they develop their business. Yamaha wants to be part of that, and this is an important part of re-establishing ourselves as Norway’s best-selling motorcycle brand. We are looking forward to opening in January and promise exciting new products for the coming season. The owners of MC OSLO will be the majority shareholders in the new venture, and Kim Harald Jøranli will become chairman of the company.
