A lifetime as a media hub in the Norwegian MC industry

Ole Martin P. Eidevik (or ompe to those in the know) has been one of the most prominent media figures in the Norwegian motorcycle industry for many decades.
Like Olav Thon, Ompe always wears his blue top hat, even when the rest of us don’t feel that a hat is required.
As the owner and operator of MC-avisa, he has over the years become the most prominent MC personality that everyone knows or wants to know, but now it’s over (for now at least).
Like Straand’s business concept, Ompe is also a very important HUB.
With his own ability to gather information and analyze, he is the man who knows everything, understands the connections and gives the wisest advice to many in the industry – Ompe is actually an icon with his quiet demeanor makes people really listen.
During the Straand event, Ompe came to Straand with his closest companion Trulte (Trulte is actually a dog) who is always with him, as Trulte cannot be left with other family members without causing severe depression.

This year’s Straand meeting was in many ways a small “clash of the titans” because it was also attended by the legendary Jarl Hole of the motorcycle press, who for an equally long period of time has had the word and the pen in his power under the auspices of MC-avisa and Ompe.
Jarl is a historian and communicator of dimensions who, without self-imposed censorship, conveys history and content without regard for delicate souls.
We’re talking straight hicks.
In October, Jarl actually turns

70 years old, so it’s appropriate to take off your hat and offer congratulations and ovations.

“For those of us who have been first-timers with these giants, we just have to give thanks that we’ve been allowed to go to a good school and learn.
We’ve probably learned a few bad habits, but we can vouch for that with our heads held high and our backs straight.

When we meet from time to time, we meet as the MC-avisa family, we all feel that we are part of the Eidevik family, the Eidevik media house, even the Eidevik Group itself.
The stories and the laughter flow freely, and in this media house we don’t need long to pursue an assignment or the objective of the assignment.
Because everything has had and has a goal, as everyone should know.

Deep insight, history, knowledge and wisdom guide it all, well interspersed with a good portion of madness, humor and true MC joy.
Personally, I don’t believe at all that Ompe will disappear, he knows and understands too much for that.
And even though Jarl turns 70 in October, he has an alarmingly high residual work capacity and desire to communicate that just needs to be released.

Guys, it’s been an honor to sail with you, we formally thank you for the team so far, but don’t think for a moment that this is over – we still have a lot to do together and the story of you two will still be written and communicated.
Just make a note of it.
