Royal Enfield really does keep its promises and is now well on the way to delivering the 10 new models it promised would arrive during 2023 and 2024.
This week saw the arrival of the latest addition to the line-up, the Guirrilla 450 roadster, and we’ve had plenty of time to get to know it this week.
Visually, the Guirrilla has been given a contemporary design, the model appears lively, youthful and comes in many colorful and more neutral color combinations.
Ergonomically, the bike is a gem and clearly invites long and fun sessions in the seat.
The technical highlights are concentrated around the modern single-cylinder engine that delivers 40 hp and 30 Nm, incidentally the same engine platform used with great success on the Himalayan 450.
Fully fueled, the Guirrilla weighs just 185 kg and is built around a highly capable frame and 43 mm dampers with 140 mm travel at the front.
At the rear, the adjustable monoshock delivers 150 mm of travel and in total, the bike’s damping is firm, precise and comfortable in all types of riding.
Royal Enfield uses the same instrument as on the Himalayan 450, albeit with a slightly different design and color scheme, this works great and you can also get turn by turn navigation here as on the other Royal Enfield models.
In terms of steering geometry, the Guirrilla is a star that delivers fun-factor in the ski pump category.
The bike is very well balanced and easily follows the rider’s gaze in turn combinations, really fun.
Although this is a relatively small endunker, the horns grow out in the forehead very quickly, but thanks to good balancing and weight distribution, the bike is also fun to turn at both low and high speeds.
The seat height is only 78 cm, which makes the model accessible to anyone not blessed with long legs.
Royal Enfield uses tires from CEAT, not a very well-known brand here at home but out in the big world they are one of the big ones with a production of a few million tires a year.
The CEAT tires used here belong to the scrambler category and make it perfectly possible to pound away on gravel roads.
We’re looking forward to the Straand event, where you can make up your own mind about this star.
We are impressed and hope that many people will open their eyes to this small and very capable newcomer that really delivers driving experiences and driving pleasure in buckets and buckets.
It’s simply hard not to like this model.
The price is expected to be less than NOK 75,000.
