The Valkyrie club meets every year somewhere in Europe and this year they wanted to stay with us to enjoy our surroundings and the wonderful Telemark roads, says Lars Arne Straand, who is the fifth generation driver together with his wife Katrine.
The Valkyrie Club had a hectic program that included a short tour with all the bikes through large parts of West Telemark, with Vest-Telemark Museum at Eidsborg as the main destination.
Tommy Oppegaard is chairman of the Valkyrie Club in Norway and says he was very pleased with the event, the weather and about 170 happy enthusiasts.
“There was a bit of drama when some of the participants fell over during the set-up of the caravan on Saturday, but fortunately Straand Hotel has good contingency plans, the police were already with us at this event so everything went just fine,” says Tommy Oppegaard.
Many ski enthusiasts visited Straand this weekend to get a closer look at the big and shiny giants.
“This is fun and the events are lined up throughout the fall, but we would love to have many more of these types of events,” adds Lars Arne Straand, welcoming everyone to the place that has become a legendary meeting place for everyone who operates on wheels, on foot or on skis.
Just as it has been for five generations.
