Style, class and comfort
Royal Enfield continues to impress by growing an already large and varied A2 portfolio. Over the past two years, Royal Enfield has launched both the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650 which are built on the same engine platform with the classic 47hp and 53Nm range. Both of these models are stars in their respective fields and you certainly shouldn’t be fooled by the A2 piston and the 47 horses, which actually deliver more than enough power for their intended use. Engine performance and sound, handling and comfort deliver much more than expected, especially if you take the price into account. The engine’s sound is absolutely fantastic and is almost like a concert of well-trained strings, both during acceleration and engine braking. I’ve ridden both models extensively and I’m almost a little taken aback by all the great features and the amount of riding pleasure these bikes create.
The third model on this platform, the Clasic 650, is now being launched and it’s very, very exciting. The model stems from the Classic 350, which only has 20 hp, but is still an experience to ride. The Clasic 350 is a comfortable charmer that costs less than a mid-range electric bike and delivers comfort, sound and driving characteristics that will make you smile broadly with a maximum speed of 110 km/h. So RE is launching the Clasic 650 at EICMA and for anyone who likes classic models, this is really good news. Carrying on the legacy of the Classic 350 and the capabilities of the Super Meteor and Shotgun, the Classic 650 is sure to be a success and we expect it to be not only a feast for the eyes, but also fun and very comfortable to ride.
It looks like RE is using the same lantern and the same instrument used on the 350 model and that’s just fine and really cool stuff. There is little information available about the new model, but based on our knowledge and experience with the Super Meteor and Shotgun, this is going to be another successful delivery from Royal Enfield. The brand now has a total of 15 models in its portfolio and for those who may be skeptical about quality, we can tell you that in addition to raising the quality of self-produced components, the manufacturer only uses well-known brand names on the main components. The design oozes style and character
